I grew up in a van. Ok, maybe not literally, but vast portions of my childhood were spent windows-down-charging 60mph across the interstate of your choice, with the heater blazing to keep the old bucket from overheating.

When I was young one of the jobs I wanted to do when I grew up was be a car designer and I was always drawing concept cars that I could possibly be driving in the future.
The automobile industry is one of the most important economic sectors in the world and with 806 million vehicles in the world and on our roads then there is great demand. Getting people to buy your vehicles can be quite a task when there is so much competition out there.
