Willard Wigan is a British artist from Birmingham, England and creates some of the most spectacular pieces of art that are so minute that they are nearly impossible to see with the naked eye unless viewed under a magnifying glass.
Willard says “It began when I was five years old; I started making houses for ants because I thought they needed somewhere to live. Then I made them shoes and hats. It was a fantasy world I escaped to. That’s how my career as a micro-sculptor began.”
Willard’s artwork has been described by many as “the eighth wonder of the world”, which resulted in Willard being honoured with an MBE for his outstanding services to art by H.M Queen Elizabeth II in 2007.
Willard’s work attracts a lot of attention and is sort after by many famous people including HRH Prince Charles, Simon Cowell, Sir Elton John, and Mike Tyson.
