When I was younger I was fascinated by robots and robotics and believed that when I grew up into adulthood that maybe robots would be part of my life. I was only 5 at the time and was probably being over optimistic on this because they still aren’t really here, even though visionaries like Leonardo Da Vinci had plans for robots over 500 years ago.
Where are the C3POs, The T-100s and even the mech suits like Gundam? Okay, there are some smart robots out there but are human controlled and mainly in factories making cars and then there is Honda’s awesome ASIMO which is probably the best robot out there at the moment but decent robots along with hover cars and hover skate boards may just be a dream in my lifetime.
So for today – the robots are here even if they are in art form only – Robots rock!
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
- A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
