I’ve often visited my family and friends homes and admired the many galleries of children’s artwork that get pinned on the fridge or kitchen notice boards. I know that when I was younger I was really proud that my mum had pinned my drawings on the fridge door and my dad even took them to work. Art is one of my many passions. Today I am still always sketching or doodling ideas on my notepad, iPad and even post-it notes. I love great art.We have featured many artworks and artists on Web Design Mash but today I bring you a magnificent collection of artworks that have been inspired by children’s drawings. I think this is such a great idea and the work below is from The Monster Engine, a project by Dave Devries.
“My job was to make these heroes real for all the people who loved them. It wasn’t easy but I learned to make them colorful, detailed and full of action. Comics, however, weren’t the only thing I painted–I also painted monsters for Universal Studios, but those monsters weren’t as cool as the ones I saw lurking in my niece’s sketches. It was then, at age 33, that I decided to take all the lessons about color, action and detail and apply them to little kid’s drawings.” – Dave Devries
A big thank you Dave Devries and all the children who’s art is featured today.
