Mobile Minimalism – 25 Great Minimalist Pictures Taken with Instagram
One particular app that has been making the waves in mobile photography today is Instagram. A photo sharing app that allows users to apply a filter to the pictures they take. These filters pay homage to vintage cameras — the Polaroid and the Kodak Instamatic. These filters provides the character and appeal to the pictures, providing that vintage postcard print feel.
Though I’ve seen over a hundred different photos uploaded on Instagrid.me (instagram’s web gallery for their users) that’s as unique as Rainbowgirl’s minimalist pictures. Her pictures are unique and has an unusual eeriness that’s not usually seen in Instagram-made pictures.
Here are some of her works:
Rainbowgirl’s unique gallery features minimalist elements and the emphasis on a single subject. The pictures are mainly defined by the unique positioning of the subject on a white background. This gives the picture an eerie or dream-like look like those that we usually find in canvas photography. What makes Rainbowgirl’s style so unique is the subject’s projection, the emphasis of emotion and longing provided by the idle memories she captures.
