White Paradise: 20 Captivating Winter Photos

I’ve always been a fan of winter photographs; there’s something in them that calms me down. It could be the peacefulness of the landscape or the escape provided by the photo that allows me to wander in my thoughts until I fall asleep or come up with something creative to do.

I see winter photographs as a white paradise – an image of relaxation and meditation. Well-known writers like Victor Hugo, Robert Frost and Lewis Carol, however, have used winter as their cold and unflinching muse in the creation of their grim stories and poems. Although the season offers exalting and at the same time depressing effects to people, winter also evokes a person’s will to survive, to prove that the human spirit is truly indomitable.

We normally see these splendid winter photos on postcards that we receive during the holidays, these photos allows us to revisit good memories we’ve spent time with our loved ones. Aside from the nostalgia that we see in these photos, these images are also indicative of the photographers’ skills of capturing landscapes blanketed in thick snow and the emotion that we associate with the holiday season.
