The Graffiti and Street Art of Banksy

Banksy is a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter and his works of street art and graffiti which is done in a special stencilling technique have been featured on many streets, bridges and walls of cities all around the world.

Banksy’s true identity is still unconfirmed but from the little we know of Banksy we have been advised that he was born in Bristol, England in 1974 and became involved with graffiti in the late 80′s. Banksy does not sell any of the photos of his work himself but many art auctioneers have attempted to sell his street art on location but proves pretty hard when it appears on a public building!

Banksy made his first film ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’ which is billed as the world’s first street art disaster movie in early 2010 and has recently been credited with the opening couch gag for the recent Simpsons episode “MoneyBart” and you can see his name appear several times throughout the opening sequence.
