Showcase of Pixar Inspired Artworks
When I was 8 years old my parents took me to see my first CGI movie. This movie was the legendary Toy Story made by the one and only Pixar. I’d never seen a proper CGI film before apart from the shorts such as Luxo Jnr (which can be viewed below) and Tin Toy that Pixar had made and were shown a lot on Disney Cartoon Time. At that age I was so amazed and had never seen anything so colorful and vivid and even today now I am in my 20′s I still feel the exactly the same way
Pixar have never let me down and with the great films they have lined up in the future such as Cars 2 I can’t see that happening. Now with the release of Toy Story 3 I just want to celebrate the greatness of Pixar.
Luxo Jnr – Short Film
A Little History of Pixar
Pixar have been making short films since 1986 with the release of their first short – Luxo Jnr, which went on to receive an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film nomination (and of which has since become the Mascot for Pixar).
In May 1991 Pixar entered into a Feature Film Agreement with Walt Disney Pictures and signed up to create 3 feature films which would be marketed and distributed by Disney and in November 1995 Pixar release their first feature film for Disney – Toy Story. Toy Story received critical acclaim and went on to become the highest grossing film of that year. Pixar over the last 15 years has since released a number of feature films including A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E and Up.
In 2006 Pixar became a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company after Pixar and The Walt Disney Company entered into an agreement which would merge the two great companies.
Here is just a collection of artwork inspired by the feature films of Pixar.

Thank you to Pixar, Disney and all the artisit featured above for inspiring me to write this post.
